- Field of activity is linked to industrial hygiene, occupational safety and health, or environmental protection.
The current membership of the Finnish Occupational Hygiene Society consists of persons who work at research institutes, at industrial enterprises, at authorities, or as private consultants.
The aims of the Finnish Occupational Hygiene Society
- To enhance and develop the scientific and technical knowledge of industrial hygiene issues.
- To gain more visibility for industrial hygiene professionals.
- To influence the preparation of regulations and legislation, so that occupational health and quality of the occupational environment are taken into account in decision-making.
- To disseminate the knowledge of the effects of the industrial hygiene activities on our environment.
- To develop industrial hygiene activities in Finland.
- To enhance the professional development of its members.
- To arrange vocational education about industrial hygiene issues.

Administration and finances of the Finnish Occupational Hygiene Society
A board of directors directs the operations of the society. The board of directors has seven members.
The activities of the society are financed primarily by returns of the educational activities, and by membership fees.
The board of directors can grant stipends for the members of the Finnish Occupational Hygiene Society for the improvement of their scientific and technical skills on industrial hygiene issues.
